in /etc/X11/xorg.conf
add this line under "Screen" section
Option "Coolbits" "1"
So it becomes:
Section "Screen" Identifier "Screen1" Device "Device1" Monitor "Monitor1" DefaultDepth 24 Option "TwinViewXineramaInfoOrder" "CRT-0" Option "TwinView" "0" Option "metamodes" "CRT: nvidia-auto-select +0+0" Option "Coolbits" "1" SubSection "Display" Depth 24 EndSubSection EndSection
In some system, it doesn't work if adding under "Screen" section.
Try adding under "Device" section.
Setting Coolbits to other numbers give different configurations
Coolbits 4 : enable fan control , but disable freq control
Coolbits 5 : enable both fan and freq control
Others, see manual

ReplyDeleteOn my old computer I had problems with the configuration from Nvidia GeForce 100, I could not solve this problem for a long time. A lot of web-sites which I found, has keep corrupted files. Accidentally I caught the site on which all the drivers are assembled for windows 9 and more, it was my lifebuoy. NVidia drivers download http://bitdrivers.com/manufacturers/nvidia was here. Any program for controlling the external device of the computer is keeping on this source.
